If so, maybe Bolden sees time at safety

hes a good solid player, and i have no idea why the jets would play him at safety. IMO hes an upgrade over Juran Bolden, and i think with some coaching he could be  a big player for us.

yeah he is experienced and still pretty young (26), i think he gives us some nice depth and is more of a pure corner than bolden.

Bolden would probably be a good safety. He gets burnt on deep passes because he isn't all that fast but he is a good wrap up tackler from what I have seen and he also plays slow WRs well and has a bit of a nose for the football.

He could probably be better than Phillips there.

My guess is becuase he does not fit in with what Mangini wants to do on defense I suppose?  They brought in Hank Poteat so I am not so sure why they dumped him for Poteat???  Only reason I can think of is that Poteat understands Mangini's defense and brings experience.

Word from the Jets fans I have talked to say the kid is damn good but was slow to learn Mangini's system yet he did pretty well in the nickel spot. They sadi he will likely be a very good fit in Tampa and needs some vets to teach him the secondary ropes. We got plenty of them.

Negatives: Needs to add bulk and strength to his frame … Willing tackler, but does not have the strength to be anything more than an arm tackler (needs wrap-up tackling technique refinement) … Seems to hesitate a bit when asked to fill the rush lanes (gets there late, but does show willingness) … Has much better coverage skills than tackling ability.

Wow... that's really what we need more of... a CB with better coverage than tackling ability, who arm tackles after he's late to the play...
