Good decision. Now the Knapp and Donatell should go too.

McKay's hand picked guy was the wrong pick.   Now McKay has the same situation as he did in Tampa. He will want to hire another guy he can control.  But Bland is no pushover, and he will not have it. Bland will want a big time coach, and rightly so.  That will leave McKay in the situation of being a GM who didn't really hire the coach and doesn't really have the ability to fire him either.

McKay has two choices, hire a high profile guy himself and compromise on some things, and then his fate will rest with how that coach does.  If that coach flops they are both out.  Or he can make Bland order him to hire somebody, and then he has a power struggle with whoever comes in.  We shall see.

McKay prefers a coach who will not try to influence personnel decisions and a coach who does not have a dominant personality who will challenge the GM. It will be interesting to see if McKay will get his way or if he will have to bend.

That sucks for us.  They may get someone in Atlanta that is good and make the team better.

No doubt about who McKay will go after>>>>>I predict he will try to ply Gruden out of Tampa, what do you guys think........no........well probably Greg Schiano from Rutgers or some college level coach.

Huge ego, not a gruden guy,  doesn't use MIKE.

I'm not surprised. After hearing that comment he made on the Washington radio station, and then listening to Blank's reaction, I knew Mora was finished in Atlanta.

While Martz looks like a better fit in Arizona, I would expect blank to go after him.  Or order Rich to.

Not really shocking here.  He pretty much sewed his fate a while back.

If they were smart they go after Rich Rodriquez.

My guess is that McKay will hire Mike Tomlin as the next head coach of the Falcons.
