That's such a good speech.  I wonder what it was like to have intelligent leadership in this country...

And its such a shame most people have practically no knowledge (and comprehension) our country's history... because if they did, I'm sure things would be much different.

And its too bad George Washington's speech is only readable.  I would love to hear it delivered.

Washington didn't like speaking.  He whispered through most of his speeches.  Unlike one of the current candidates, the greatness was the in the man, not his speeches.  I don't where the other candidate's greatness is.

I agree with you Biggs. Obama's greatness to rise from being a poor black kid with a single mom, to graduating Harvard and being the first black president of their Law Review, rising up to Illinois Senate, and now competing to be the first black president in the history of the United States is truly the American dream. I'm not sure what you saw in McCains speeches.

Shockingly, you misread what I posted.  I said nothing was great about McCain.

Your little bio on Senator Obama's "greatness" was cute, though.

His running mate's legs are pretty great

Illegals, and dead people shouldnt vote... oh wait thats 50% of the democrat voters.

One thing they need to get rid of is vote by mail. You should have to actually take time out of your life to vote. Biggest crap, plus its not safe.

No, they didn't. In fact, George Washington said that political parties would be the undoing of our nation.

and it appears as though he was 100% correct...

more correct would be Jefferson's warning that a central bank would destroy the country.

"As we peer into society's future, we, you and I, and our government, must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering for, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without asking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow."

How fitting for today - as Americans live hand-to-mouth, save nothing, expect the American gov't to bail them out of their loans,  and provide handouts (healthcare, housing) while not even cognizant that we're fighting TWO wars. There's very little self-sacrifice.

The population of this country has ZERO awareness of our political or spiritual heritage. Very sad.

Some people in Ohio shouldn't. All they do is cry about not having jobs and lack of tourist. Well if they would stop voting down the Casino issue we wouldnt have that problem as much. It would create tons of jobs, bring in lots of money to the State of Ohio.
