I don't think there is any chance Gruden gets fired until at least 2008.
His offense is just starting to shine and now he has a QB that should be able to run it properly. If that happens the cosmos could be alligned for this team if we can retool a defense that was #1 last year.
If he coaches a great offense this year but the defense flounders it will be on Kiffin, not Gruden. That will buy him time for sure. We could win a few games strictly off of our offense if Gradkowski really gets this thing going.
Gimme a break.
Kiffin KNOWS how to run a defense. The components have to be there. Unfortunately for Monte, Booger really sucks, JP is playing an invaluable position in the Tampa 2 and not doing his thing. Kiffin is the best at what he does, any team in the NFL would love to have this guy on the staff, as the DC. Or a HC in some places, from what was rumored.
Kiffin is a God.
He will not catch ANY flak for setting the standard when it comes to defense. Top 10 for ten plus years. You don't knock a guy like that. He is H.O.F. material.
When this season is done and over with, even if the defense fails to step up to the plate, it will be on the players.
Not Kiffin. He hasn't changed his formula for anyone. It is like an artist who is used to working with oil based paints putting together something with Jumbo Crayons...he'll do his best, but it ain't going to be a masterpiece.
