And my wife didn't mind that I "perused" the beach as Iwas like a kid in a candy store.

That's the most repeated line on this site when somebodypoints out that there are other great countries out there besides the US.But stay away from Canada! LOL.

Get a wiff of the American spirit and get a real job that has health care benefits. If I dont have something, I look for who does and go there. As an American I know that I could be laid off and my family will struggle and possibly lose my home and not be able to buy milk or diapers. I know that and constantly prepare for that to occur and make plans to prevent it. Thats the problem. Some people think their entitled to have a job , entitled to have help to make ends meet when in trouble. That isnt and shouldn't be the case. You have to have a carrot to make people get off their arse and work. Health Benefits are the carrott, Money is the carrott. ÂÂ
Dang.. Listening to Barack in this commercial you'd think we were living in a 3rd world country and we are all miserable. I'm a middle class guy with a kid. Life isn't bad. Americans should go visit Mexico or Canada. I think they would return with a real idea of what bad is.
Why is it a bad arguement? If you favor socialism, why do you hang out in America? Go to Europe and you will live a happier life if that is what you want. But no... instead you have to stay here, force everyone to live under your system, and make everyone's life miserable. The government will take more of my money and throw a heathcare card I dont even want back at my face. I dont want to be part of this universal healthcare system. But somehow I doubt the socialists will allow me to opt out of it.

But comparing it to Mexico? Are you really serious about that?

once again - i don't hate anybody that thinks another country is better for them. to hear them lament for not being able to live there breaks my heart.btw, i do have the mentality that my country is the best - but i'm a fear mongering, bigot so there you go.this notion that national pride is somehow bad is the funniest thing i've ever heard. if you don't like it here, just go where you will like it - just wear shin guards so you don't bruise running into all the people fighting to get in here legally or otherwise. LOL!c'mon joe - everything people say that you don't agree with isn't wrong - hahahahaha... go find a link to some obscure document that says otherwise... i'm sure its out there.
Gee.. sounds a little bit like... Russia under Stalin, China under Mao, Germany under Hitler, Italy under Mossolini.
Quote from: Magnaccia on October 30, 2008, 11:52:31 AMGee.. sounds a little bit like... Russia under Stalin, China under Mao, Germany under Hitler, Italy under Mossolini. No...conservatives are simply trying to protect America from turning into those regimes. They were all socialist dictatorships who all had the same mentality...being rich is evil. And that's the mentality in America today. It's scary.
i've never said it's perfect Mags, i just said if elsewhere is better, go get 'em. what is so negative about that? it's confirming what you just expressed - as in, agreement.i happen to believe we are the greatest country in the world. i'm not saying you should feel that way, i simply do. the numbers of those flocking here is a pretty good testimony to their agreement, but even they aren't all right.i hardly think national pride as i've stated is on par wih your examples, but if you got that from my post i wonder if you're alone?
