according to the playoff calculator... if Bucs lose to Carolina AND Atlanta, the Bucs can still get the #2 seed, assuming New Orleans takes care of business in their games vs Carolina and Atlanta. Obviously Bucs would have to beat SD and Oak in RJ. In a way, we want Carolina and Atlanta to beat the Bucs to get better records to push Dallas and/or the Redskins out of the playoffs. My point is, its not the end of the word if the Bucs lose Carolina and Atlanta. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=custom&14=00050104&15=05010150&16=00410551&17=14044400

10-6 Dallas and 10-6 Redskins have the tie breakers over  10-6 Carolina and 10-6 Atlanta.
if Bucs defeat Carolina AND Atlanta, then Dallas and Redskins likely make the playoffs and Carolina and Atlanta do not.   Good point about Dallas getting the #6 seed to take out the Giants.

theres no good reason for Bucs to lose the next two games, but if we did, we should still win the Division and still get the #2 seed assuming the following:
Bucs defeat SD and Oakland Carolina loses @ NY Giants, @ New Orleans Atlanta loses @New Orleans
Bucs can lose Carolina and Atlanta, and has about a 50-50 chance of still getting the #2 seed.

my point was..  Bucs need to win TWO games of the next 4 at a minimum to get the #2 seed.  And it may not matter which two games.  Obviously you want to control your own destiny and it isnt a sure thing that New Orleans would beat Atlanta and Carolina in the Superdome, but it makes the Bucs next two games less stressful knowing there are other likely scenerious to still get that #2 seed.
It will help me cope with the stress on Monday night when we're up by 3 points vs Carolina and all we have to do is run the clock out and Gruden calls two passing plays that go incmplete, giving Steve Smith one more chance to beat us.  It helps me cope. ÂÂ
