Schefter during his discussion about the possibility of a Sapp to Indy trade, mentioned that the Buccs tried to trade with Oakland in '04 to try and reaquire Warren Sapp, but the Buccs attepmt to regain Sapp's services were rebuffed by Oakland.

Uggh, good for the Bucs that didn't happen but it shows they had and have no confidence in Booger doesn't it?

Proves that the Bucs have no confidence in Booger. It would be nice to see Sapp again as a part time player. If they could find maybe three quality DT and rotate them in and out like Philly does maybe we could get some penetration from the interior of the defense.

He would be a good replacement for Alstott on short-yardage TD situations.  Also, Gru was just quoted as saying he liked the td celebration dances.  Sapp could be our DC - designated celebrator.

Even running on empty he will still be more effective than McFat.

Not sure how much is left in the tank, but he has 2 sacks this year.  That's 2 more than Booger, Wyms, Jenkins, and Hovan have put together.

I'd love to have him back. Even as a part timer. He'll always be a BUC

Getting rid of him and Lynch was stupid.

I think we've ploughed through that debate more than enough.

ABucsfan, I heard the same thing from Sheffler, however, something doesn't make sense.  In January- February of 2004 the Bucs still had Sapp on contract.  I doubt if they released him , then tried to trade for him a few months later.  Either Sheffler meant 2005, or more likely, the Bucs tried to trade Sapp in early 2004 themselves.

No matter what, he needs to retire as a Buc whenever that day comes...He sure would work up the fans again if he came back.  I watched a couple of Raiders games and didn't see him do anything...don'[t know if that means he couldn't here.
