Notre Dame will be in the Big East if anything.

That won't happen. If ND is going to join a conference, it'd be a presitigious one, not a junior varsity one.

Notre Dame is in the Big East already for basketball so joining for football makes sense. Unless there is another major conference overhaul that would be the conference they join for football. My bet is they don't join any conference until the TV contract well dries up.

being in a BCS conference is help to any football team and like I said they're already in the Big East for every sport except football.

Notre Dame should not be allowed the TV contract.  This to me is no different than paying players and providing for recruits.  But again, this is why college football cannot compare to the NFL.  By tradition, schools are treated differently and allowed to get away with more, compared to other programs.  It isn't how good you are on the field, it's where you went to school?  The biggest joke is NBC continuing to pay that joke of a program money for airing such an ugly product.
At least they lowered their standards and accepted a bid to a non-major bowl.......oh that's right, they haven't been eligible for a bowl in quite some time.
Krazy is right though, they belong in the Big 10; it's their only chance at regaining credibility.  I still don't get the love for Weis?

According to THIS article at the Universities own web site, Notre Dame ranked 14th nationwide for Academic & Athletic excellence, behind Stanford, Texas, North Carolina, Michigan, Florida, UCLA, USC, Duke, Georgia, Wisconsin, Texas A&M, Arizona State, and Ohio State.

I also noticed that Notre Dame's average incoming freshman has an SAT score several hundred points lower than the average incoming freshman at USC. Is USC not considered as having a decent football program?

Are Notre Dame's standard's that much higher than Boston College's or Michigan's? What about Virginia Tech?

And since ND lost to Navy, does that mean Annapolis has low standards? Or maybe ND just has a really crappy coach, which is it?

anyone that knows anything about college football knows that it's good for college football when notre dame is a good team. they have a huge fan base and they travel well.

WTF?? Tradition is what makes college football great. However, as was pointed out, NBC televises those games STRICTLY based on the $ factor, not tradition.
