geneva convention? u.n.? HA!

yeah, right. israel's just following in their big brothers footsteps...

israel's got everything to lose, and the balls to be offensive. the last country you want to go to war with on planet earth. they'll be launching nukes first... just my opinion.

Breaking News: Israel uses White Phosphorous shells on UN Headquarters in Gaza.

Not only are they targeting the U.N., but using white phosphorous as a weapon is in violation of the Geneva Conventions.

IF it is true they are using white phosphorous as a weapon instead as an illumination guide then I can't defend their actions even if their intent is justified.

I bet the Germans of the 40's talked like that.

i'm not sure which part of the statement you're referring to kmitch so sorry if i come across rash, but everyones pissed all over the geneva convention since it's installment in the late 1800's. the u.n. wasn't around 'til '45 (after ww2) and still no one cares about it, and israel in '48. and among the list who talks like that today it has only gained popularity. lebanon, west bank, gaza, jordan, pakistan, iran, syria, afghanistan, the list goes on and on and on and on and on...

i'm very scared of israel. the few perks of being an american...

A few excellent articles on the "casualty" figures coming out of Gaza:

...and of course this from Mark Bowden of Blackhawk Down Fame:
"If you feel the need to go to war against an enemy that is not as powerful as you are, one of the tactics of the weaker party is to hide among civilians, and use the global media to advertise the horror of the onslaught. People on the receiving end of the bombs greatly exaggerate the casualties and get photographers to take the most gruesome of pictures, and at the same time, the people in charge of the stronger power try to minimize the number of casualties. If you live in a democracy, then public opinion really matters, and reports of dead children swells the criticism of the war. If you live in a dictatorship, then you don't care what the people think. Israel is a democracy and it cares about the way the rest of the world feels.  It gets hurt by killing civilians, so for moral and practical reasons, they're trying very hard to avoid it."

"I believe that culpability for these casualties is very much with Hamas. Take this leader, Nizar Rayyan, who was killed with many of his children. He knew he was a target. If I knew that I was a target, I sure as hell wouldn't have my children near me. It's a horrible and cynical choice he made. But if your enemy is a sophisticated manipulator of public opinion, then this is one of the many downsides of choosing to go to war. Israel knows that."

"The parallel with Mogadishu is that gunmen in that battle hid behind walls of civilians and were aware of the restraint of the (Army) Rangers. These gunmen literally shot over the heads of civilians, or between their legs. They used women and children for this. It's mind-boggling. Some of the Rangers shot civilians, some of them inadvertently and some of them advertently. They made the choice to shoot at crowds. When a ten-year-old is running at your vehicle with an AK-47, do you shoot the kid? Yes, you shoot the kid. You have to survive. When push comes to shove, faced with the horrible dilemma with a gunman facing you, yes, you shoot. It's not just a choice about your own life. If you don't shoot, you're saying that your mission isn't important, and the lives of your fellow soldiers aren't important."

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.
If you think Manziel is the best QB in this draft I can safely assume you are an idiot and will treat you as such.

The first and last pictures are not really accurate.

There've been a lot bigger robberies in history. You can start with Palestine which was stolen from the Xians, along with Egypt, Tuinisa, Syria, Lebanon, etc...but I'm sure you Muslim buddy doesn't want to hear about that. Ask the Poles about land losses and I'm sure they can come up with a few robberies of their own.

Ask your muslim friend if he remembers Trans-Jordan, all the former Ottoman lands east of the Jordan River that were sanctioned by the British under mandate from the Sykes-Picot Agreement. This is was to be the Arab Palestinian nation, which, including the French mandated areas of Lebanon and Syria was 75% of the total land area of the southern Ottoman empire gained after WW1 from the Turks.

The Jewish Palestinians were granted all the lands west of the Jordan River by this agreement, which would include all the land in the first map. Just because Trans-Jordan became Jordan and erased all connections to the name Palestine does not mean that this was not intended as the Arab Palestinian nation.
