So...that Vick to the Browns thing had me looking over the web seeing if I could find some discussions about that move. (Even went to ClevelandBrowns.com...but was met with what appeared to be an ad about a gay, cowboy porn star who will be having a concert soon...but didn't find a message board)

So...I know there are a couple Brown's fans that post over at the TBBBB...I figured I would see if there is a post about it over there.

Of course...one has to weed through half a dozen threads about Gruden in order to find anything. That's when it hit me...

The biggest difference between that board and this one is that this forum has a much wider selection of discussions to choose from, while that board, for the most part, pretty much has a one track mind. (Even threads not intended to be about Gruden end up being about Gruden...)

In any case...this got me wondering. Is that because this board is pretty much only full of those that support Gruden? I, for one, would be just fine with his dismissal. But I also feel this topic has been discussed beyond the point of having any meaning anymore. I figure the Glazers will make their decision and that will be that. And, regardless of their decision, I'll still be pulling for my team with mucho gusto.

So...not to start a conversation about it...but...who here -wants- Gruden to remain the head coach? Who would prefer to see Gruden and the Buccaneers part ways?

No need to explain or try and change anybody's mind. Just a simple "I support Gruden" or a simple "I would prefer a new head coach" will suffice. This can just be a thread that will show what kind of diversity we have in this forum. Because...if there are a lot of opposing views on this subject...then I am extremely impressed with this group's ability to look past that tired topic and have discussions on other things.

As for me...I think I’ve already said it...but...

(Stands up and says in his best imitation of an AA voice)
I would prefer a new head coach.

This board has more educated fans.   The other site is mainly women, kids, uneducated fans and gruden haters.   There are a few good posters over there like PetePierson for example, but there are very few.

On a side note Moon, whatever happened with those songs you made?

It's because most of the fans over there are casual fans, that's why so many call for a coaches head because of a losing season. Not only do they not know how to lose with grace, they can't tell the difference between a team that's losing and a team that's quit on it's coach. Dungy's 2000 playoff caliber team quit on him, Gruden's motley collection last year fought through nearly every loss. Theres a difference to the eye of an experienced fan.

Make no mistake though, the players will quit on him next season if things don't improve.

Well...I went from the solo thing and am now in a band called Last Good Day. We've just started out and should have our first disc done in June. The band setting is 10 times more fun than the solo setting.

On a sidenote - the remix of one of my tunes, Too Much, is going to be a backing track in an episode of Real World next season (I'm told it is set in Australia). I haven't seen that show in probably 10 years...but you can bet I'll have multiple copies of that episode on DVD when it happens. ;-)

(The remix of the song is here:

As for this thread (And not in response to you, Java)...I'd rather we not get into a discussion about how bad that board is and how good this board is...I'd rather see what kind of diversity we have on that topic here.

Diversity on the Gruden topic?      As for me, I support Gruden currently.   I think it's too early to be calling for his head given the circumstances of lost draft picks (mainly to bring him in here since Dungy couldnt get us over the hump - but that isnt Gruden's fault), salary cap restraints, and a team that had passed it's peak by the time he came here.    I still think if Brian Kelly hadn't gone down in 2003, that season would have been quite different.    I do think Gruden's done a bad job in many areas, but he's done some things that have impressed me as well.     I like his play calling on offense for the most part.   We may not have an overly productive offense yet, but I like the play calls alot better than any other offense we've ever run.

I expect to see some improvement next year, but I dont expect the playoffs.    We finally have some cap room and draft picks for him to work with.   I'm willing to bet if he remains coach that we are a superbowl contender again by 2009.

Ditto.  It's not like I can do anything about it and the bottom line is I just want what is best for the team's success.

I am a Grudenista until he decides to retire from the Bucs or the Glazers decide to replace him.
