PewterReport.com is reporting that the Buccaneers have promoted Casey "Gus" Bradley to the role of LBs coach to replace Joe Barry. Bradley worked closely with Barry last year in his first season with the Buccaneers and was heavily involved with the team's linebackers. Bradley was Tampa Bay's defensive quality control coach in 2006, replacing Joe Woods. Bradley served as North Dakota State's defensive coordinator from 1997-2000.

The Buccaneers have one remaining coaching vacancy to fill – defensive line – as a replacement for Jethro Franklin has not been named yet.

Kiffin must have liked something about Bradley to give him Barry's job. Whats the history on him?

Sharp guy, very personable, has a real desire to excel. You guys will soon see that he will work as hard as he has to in order to be successful. One of the great things about Gus is that the players really like and respect this guy because he really demonstrates that he cares about them and about making them better. Players say he's a straight-shooter and you always know where you stand with him. He makes guys want to work hard.

To be honest, I hadn't given too much thought to Gus getting the job. But I must say, this could work out to be a very good choice, IMO.

So far it looks like they are 2 for 2 in filling their vacancies with quality coaches.  The LB position should not see a decline and the DBs should see improvement.  Good moves.  Now if they can get a good DL coach that should help the defense next year.

Truths:
1.  Never have an argument with an idiot.  They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.
2.  For some it would be better if they remained silent and be thought a fool than to speak and erase all doubt.

The current coaching staff hiring new coaches really makes the claims of Gruden's job still being in jeopardy seem rather dubious.

One would tend to believe that.  I do.  It sounds like Gruden is going to turn this thing around, and make people eat some crow.

Still no news on Muir. Unfortunately looks like he's staying.
