I must say I really, really like Perez in the leadoff spot.

I agree that would be a good spot for him, but I think BJ will be the one manning that this year, with Carl 2nd.  As far as the rest, we'll see.

It will be interesting to see how it unfolds, considering BJ might not start the season with the team.  Perez could start the first couple of series in CF and leading off.  If he does well, he might get to keep the leadoff spot and get RF fulltime.

How Joyce, Kapler, and Gross do in Spring will affect the decision to.  Gross has worn thin on me and I like Joyce and Kapler, but Perez's baserunning is something he offers that the other three can't.

Of course, with Coach Maddon, the possibilities are endless.

I think Perez could hit .450 from the leadoff spot and BJ would still take it right back when he comes back.  BJ is one of the best players on the team, if Maddon is intent on him hitting leadoff, he will hit leadoff regardless of what Perez does.

I am actually thinking a Kapler/Joyce platoon would be great in RF.  It would be great defensively and offensively, as Kapler mashed LH last year and Joyce is strong vs. righties, and both are solid in the field.  Besides, I think we would be better served with a more powerful bat than another "fast" guy like Perez. 

But, I am resigned to the fact Joyce will start in AAA, since he has options.

I did hear today that Kapler is likely to start in CF if BJ is not ready opening day.

Talbot is looking good....3 HR's in the 1st inning so far.  His location is horrible.

Read it in paper at work.  Not sure if it was orlando slantenil or ledger. 

Never been a fan of Talbot.

Kapler is in RF today, and made a heck of a play cutting a ball off in the corner.  But with BJ out, there are many directions Maddon could go.

Went today, Talbot blew.

Not too upset with the loss though, considering we really played one starter compared to their 4 or 5.

I went as well talbot looked weak in the bullpen. But Dewon Day looked outstanding the bullpen, i like him.

I left at about 3 because I had to go somewhere and didn't get a chance to see him, glad he looked good.

Oh ok.  Yea his cutter was great in the bullpen.  Another guy to keep an eye on is Thayer.
