Should have taken the safety. Punting from the 1 all but assured SD getting the ball in great field position. If you take the safety yes a FG would beat you, but they would have actually had to work for the FG attempt.

You are right, taking the safety and the kick was better than what happened.  But it's sad that they couldn't confidently run it on 3rd and 2.

I've never seen such a terrible playcall. Shotgun with no single back are you kidding me? You're easily telling them you're going to pass and you get sacked from the left side. Worst call ever. Better team won and that was SD. Phillip Rivers is a good QB but Sproles stole the show.

This wasn't about Gruden. It was about a coach who has clearly underachieved with the talent he had.  He should have two or more rings like Belichick, going all the way back to the Bucs.  Dungy may be the best regular season coach ever.

I think a change of pace is warranted. One can only read so many GruAllen is terrible or fantasy land draft/free-agent acquisitions posts.  The Colts game was only one of two today.   Even the Indy people see it as a problem.
