Between Linehan or Bates it seems like there will be an emphasis to push the ball downfield.

Thank god!!!
yeah but who will be pushing the ball
The new QB that Bates develops.

Would still like us to take a hard look at Hue Jackson

Just a thought here, Olson who just survived the coaching cuts here was a former coach under Scott Linehan who decided not to retain him with the Rams last off-season, so my guess would be that Linehan is not the guy coming here, but Bates seems more and more like the new OC

Good observation Yuc

Just cause he survived the first round doesn't mean he is safe. I am sure more could be coing depending on the OC hire.

For WR coach yes, for OC no.

Linehan wouldn't be a bad hire.  Ther's a reason he is in demand by a lot of teams.  Don't judge him as an OC by his HC stint in St. Louis.

Linehan was an offensive coordinator with the Vikings (2002-04) and Dolphins (2005). In Minnesota, his offense ranked second, first and fourth in the NFL.

What am I missing here, Boid? Are those rankings misleading? Seems like a decent option.

Linehan was great in MN and in Miami prior to taking the Rams job as I recall. It would be a solid hire I think, but my preference would still be Bates.

Sounds like I would prefer Linehan to Bates.

Bates or Linehan would be welcomed by me.

I would prefer Bates, I really like what he has done with Cutler. I also like his history here and his relationship with Rah. However Bates is also a possible HC candidate next year, while Linehan could be around for a little longer.

Nah, I rather have Bates. Linehan walked into a good situation just like Brian Billick did. I'll take Bates, he developed a top flight QB.

Linehan would also mean no more WCO.

Yeah, well Muir and Mann have been around longer...

Careful what you ask for.
