Leftwich seriously on the radar screen for the Bucs

Which is ugly, to say the least.  Slow, big windup, not very accurate.  Might as well resign Simms.

They are  going to bring the same things to the table.  Both are tough, both have deep ball range.  Both are not terrible precise.  Both are slow, pocket passers, with Fernando Valenzuela windups...

One is white, one is black.  One will want more money.

I would be ill if the BUcs go after these jokers.

His long windup is masked somewhat by his ability to make quick decisions unlike Chris.  If you ask me he is an upgrade over Griese because he has started and played in multiple playoff games.

Man , ya'll better hope Bucs trade for D.Anderson, M.Cassel, Matt Hassleback, or sign K.Collins.  McCown,Leftwich,Johnson?   Serious, you really think one of these guys are taking us anywhere?  Really?  Be Honest......  Put Johnson,Leftwich,McCown as starter on Carolina,Atl, or NO.... scare you?  I didn't think so. Trade/sign Hassleback or Collins, and draft your future QB next year.  Now Of course Bucs may be planning to start Leftwich and finish 2-14 and then draft one of the stud QBs next year.

Yeah, and he had the aid of an awesome defense in all of his succesful stints.  And pretty decent run attacks.  And good O-lines.

Put him in ATL, and see what happens?  He turns into a turd.

Obviously Griese sucks.  The only one worse than him is Bruce Gradkowski.  

I wonder if Luke is going to feel slighted again...and FWIW, I hope the Bucs stay faaaaaaar away from Byron.  Methinks he would be a HUGE dud in Tampa.

Please no to Byron Leftwich. Watching his snail-like release is about as painful as watching as the '08 Bucs RZO. He's an upgrade over Griese but there's no real place in the NFL any more for QB with a slow release and zero mobility. I'd happily pass.

With the zone blocking scheme I expect a decent running attack and the defense will be re-vamped to an attacking style.  So the Jaguar blueprint is there...

Seriously, for all the "slow windup" stuff about Byron show me where it shows up in his stats. He's got one bad measure - comp%- and since sacks, fumbles and INT's aren't high as well I'm guessing he's just not very accurate as opposed to the windup issue.

When you are talking about the FA QB market he's as good as it gets out there unless you just love having Luke "Mystery" McCown as your only option.
