They were back to the standard that we expect from a Tampa Defense today. When it came to the clutch, they held firm and didn't allow Carson Palmer to get into FG range, unlike Jake Delhomme and co. 3 weeks ago.

Rush defense was vastly improved today, with only 53 yards given up on the ground with an average of only 2.65 YPC.

The Pass rush was more consistent today, but still has room for improvement.

All in all, the defense went back to the 'bend don't break' ethos that served us so well last year. They kept us in the game today while the Offense was struggling. Both sides of the ball then came through in the clutch.

However, with that said, no interceptions today again. That is a major worry.

\"We are frustrated at not making the playoffs. It is a good start. That is all it is. It is a good start for something that we are going to be in the future. - Josh Freeman

you may be seening a lot of him this year.  Ugh.  but he had a pretty good game with almost an INT but a bad missed tackle.

You and me both. I've hated Bolden since he got his ass handed to him on a silver platter by the Pats WR's last year.

the pass rush still could be a lot better.  Palmer only was touched twice, although the last one was a huge play for us.  i thought our run defense, particularly in the 1st half, was pretty good.

i'm glad he made a play, but that was more scheme than anything else.  we blitzed up the middle with Allen and the guard slid over to pick him up, allowing Wyms to run through unblocked.

Watching Bolden makes me hope we can get that CB from Fresno State even more. If you don't get a good pass rush you better have some good cover DB's. If you have a pass rush, you can have average guys back there. It will be interesting come draft day and during FA next year. The D did play well today. Brooks doesn't seem to be around the ball like he used to.
