How about some notes... After talking with a number of scouts and industry people the consensus seems to be that both LaRon Landry and Gaines Adams made a mistake by dropping out of this game. Most feel that they are far from locks to even be the first players chosen at their positions and in the case of Landry Reggie Nelson might already have passed him on a number of draft boards. Nobody has a problem with Brady Quinn or Joe Thomas dropping out (for the most part) but the same can not be said for Landry and Adams.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

There will be a lot of solid talent in the middle of the first round, which is more incentive to work some trades, IMO, especially if JT is off the board.

Not suprised.

And Quinn is not in the clear yet either.  He has to show up at the combines/and or pro days with modest results or Russell will leap frog him for the #1 QB spot if he hasn't already.

They'll have to really shine at the combine.

With the Raiders having that pick....Quinn has been leapfrogged by Russell.

Yeah I could possibly see that.  With Lane Kiffen the new head coach of the Raiders and with the ability to hire his own coaches supposedly that is another curve ball to consider.

I don't think so. It's the draft, people. Sure, they may have made a mistake. But people won't know it at the very least until the day of the draft. This is the same string of events as the combine, in which the best 40 time gets a player hyped up for a very literal "15 minutes of fame" until it is bested and then THAT player takes the hype torch. Yes, it's looking like a bad decision now because other players are getting the limelight and get to be sen by teams while these players don't. But they'll get plenty of time for that at the combine and pro days (especially Landry being in with Bowe and Russell at LSU's) and then this will be a mere footnote. Thomas, IIRC, also got some backlash for not going. Quinn of course won't though, because NFL GM's will love him for playing under Weis and being a QB. I'm starting to wonder if all these GM went to the Sean Salisbury "all QBs are awesome because it's a tough job" academy.....
