Sad group of quarterbacks, but I still think Orton, Rosenfals, Shaub, and Edwards are better than McCown.

No doubt!!

All it takes is attendance to make that group - I think Luke as more offensive assets than most of those guys - and he will be better than the lowest echelon of NFL qbs, we will see how much better soon.

Why do I have this feeling that McCown stole Java's woman?

The truth is Tampa Bay fans have always hated their quarterback - from day one. They always cast their eye to someone they "think" is better.

If the choice is between Cutler and McCown - its a no-brainer - you go with the proven guy. But all this Brady Quinn, Derek Anderson, Matt Leinart, Byron Leftwich (For anything other than a backup) sickens me. Anderson had one good year sandwiched between two god awful ones. McCown has done more in the NFL than Quinn and Leinart combined. Leftwich is nothing but a backup now. Why waste time on guys who won't be as good as what we already have?

Luke's got the arm, the athletic ability, and the composure to be a damn good QB in the NFL. Our players seem to believe in him from what our guys at the PR have said. All he needs is experience...so give it to him and lets see what we got. If Bruce Gradkowski can get 10 games for Tampa Bay, there's no reason Luke can't.

Maybe Luke is the exception to the rule but franchise QB's don't typically sit on the bench for 6 years.  I hope the best for Luke. I hope he's our Tom Brady but I don't know.  He may end up a nice QB, just manage the game QB but he'll never be a top tier QB IMO.

It would mean, and I don't have much faith in Gruden but more than this, he totally screwed the depth chart. I mean this isn't a young Tom Brady behind Drew Bledsoe what was at that time Super Bowl QB, 4000 yard passer multiple pro bowler type situation but SoB and Garcia ahead of him.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

Extreme circumstances.

He was Butch Davis' guy in Cleveland. He was going to be the 2005 week 1 starter if he didn't get fired.

A torn ACL in 2006 wiped out that chance.

In 2008 Gruden goofed, big time.

Same here but the odds are against him right now. Have been for almost every unproven qb in tampa bay history. Ok all of it.
