 Jay Cutler didn't want trade to Browns because of Mangini

The Browns might have won the sweepstakes had Jay Cutler's agent, Bus Cook, not also represented Brett Favre. The longtime Packers star didn't mesh last year with Jets coach Eric Mangini, who was fired and landed in Cleveland. Mangini reportedly was willing to give up Brady Quinn in a deal for Cutler. Quinn, who played for former Patriots offensive coordinator Charlie Weis at Notre Dame, might have been a good fit in McDaniels' system. But Cook made it clear when talks began that Cutler wanted no part of Mangini, and fears that he wouldn't report to the Browns shut down that deal.

He's such a little b1tch. I'm glad we didn't get him, but I also feel we don't need to be starting McClown either.

PFT is reporting Cutler and Ron Turner (Chicago's OC) have a problem going back a few years.

Yep. He has a problem with McD, Mangini and has a history with Turner. Still would have taken him in a heartbeat.

He's not a Buc and therefore not important. He's just another enemy on the gridiron as far as I'm concerned. The Cutler talk should just stop. It's just stupid to continue the babble.

Mangini and Favre hated eachother so much that Mangini invited Favre to come help the Browns with OTAs... hmmm

"there are no medals here for who can stay at the office the longest," said Jagodzinski. "I'm not into that. The guys that brag about working till 2 in the morning, in my opinion, they're just not smart enough. "

Yeah, is there a problem? I think he shouldn't be the starter and we should pursue a different Quarterback.

If you think differently then, great, that's your opinion.

Good post Stan.   It wasn't Mangini, it was Turner who was the problem.

UPDATE;

Jay Cutler said Friday that he has no problems with offensive coordinator Ron Turner.

The Chicago Sun Times reported earlier in the day that Cutler held a grudge against Turner because the former Illinois head coach pulled a scholarship offer to him. Cutler said the rift was "too long ago" and that he had talked to Turner for 15-20 minutes on Thursday.
