At work today they informed us all that we would be getting a 14% pay increase beginning May 1st which is pretty good; but one guy did complain saying "is that all" and our boss just said "hey - we could've been handing out pink slips in May like alot of other companies are doing, but instead you are getting a raise".

I am just glad that you and your fellow workers' jobs have been "saved" by the President.

Well thankfully the medical labratory business is still booming and not feeling the full effects of the recession.

I'm not sure but it was supposed to be across the board from what we were told and is effective May 1st.

We're hiring. Of course, you have to be able to run 2 miles, do 40 push ups and 40 sit ups and do what you´re told.   That'll probably eliminate 99% of the members of this mb.

You can run 2 miles without stopping?   The 40 push ups and 40 sit ups would be no problem.   But 2 miles of actual "running"?   That's not easy unless your hobby is running.    I was in line behind a couple of american military guys today in Bangkok in immigration.   No way could those guys run 2 miles.   They looked to be in good shape as far as body building went because they were quite muscular, but they didn't look like the running type.

No you don't

that's true - the above scores are my minimums - if you're a woman, you only do about 4 push -ups and run in 30 mins.
