This signing means nothing. I am assuming nothing is guaranteed. Itmight prevent someone from jumping us to get another QB. It can be insurance ifwe dont pick up a QB in the draft. I wouldnt get too excited or depressed over this guy. But you do want a veteran guy in there just in case.

I haven't seen Lefty play since the Atlanta game and I don't remember him doing much. How strong is his arm?

Really strong -- trouble is, he has to wind up like Johan Santana in order to throw. So, get used to seeing routes jumped and balls batted at the line.

Leftwich=stop gap.  Look for Tampa Bay to draft a QB next year.

Also, I'd venture to bet that Leftwich beats out McCown for the starting job.

I actually think both of those things have a pretty good chance of coming to fruition.

Just an FYI (didn't find it posted in this tread.  If so, my fault)...Leftwich will wear #7 with the Buccaneers.

I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion considering batted balls haven't been problematic in his career thus far.

In my opinion, Leftwich is worse than McCown and Griese and has less potential than JJ.    They don't need him.

Couldn't agree more.

I can't wait to see what kind of game Byron Leftwich brings to the Bucs.

What??? Then what number is Mike Vick gonna wear?...... (JUST FREAKIN KIDDIN!) HAHA!

Discussing Draft Needs (and Wants) before finding out how active the Bucs are in Free Agency is an Exercise in Futility. And I\'ve gotten one hell of a workout....

That video of Leftwhich busting his ankle is a far too common sight considering that injury has followed him throughout his NFL career, preventing him from ever starting 16 games in a season
