about the only thing that we really celebrate much of in my family is Thanksgiving. Aside from what the true meaning of "Christmas" has been, the sheer commercialization of it over the past several years has only drove me further away from wanting to celebrate it.
I'm celebrating Easter with my family today. We went to Mass this morning, gave our children Easter baskets, will hunt eggs at their Grandparents, and have dinner together this evening. We celebrate Christmas also. Because we CHOOSE to. Carry on with the lectures.

I always wondered where the extra day went? If Jesus died on Good Friday, and rose on the third day, that would be Monday not Sunday. Why is Ham considered a traditional Easter meal? Did the Apostles chow down on ham after Jesus came back? Lamb would make a symbolic sense but none of the stores have Lamb on sale, just ham and turkey. Pretty sure Jesus and friends didn't chow down on Turkey.I'm gonna start a new tradition for Easter, Roast Rabbit.
