The whole Gruden won with Dungy's team is the worse argument ever!  If I remember correctly we played OAKLAND which would have been "GRUDEN'S" team.

Had Gruden stayed with Oakland, I have no doubt the Raiders would have won the superbowl that year.   It was Gruden's year to win a ring regardless.

Its like saying Tony Dungy won with Sam Wyche's team.

Now THAT, I agree with.  ;)

Smartest moves of the Bucs

Franchise Bryant, and make sure he is the real deal, before we give him a huge contract next season.
Give up a late 2nd round pick for a 25 year old pro bowl TE.
Signing Derrick Ward
Firing Bruce Allen

Dumbest moves the Bucs have made
Firing our only HC to ever win a SB for us.
Giving Clayton that contract.
Missing out on Cutler (not entirely the Bucs fault)

Disagree on Gruden - it was time....

I also think the Broncos got the better end of the deal. The drop from Cutler to Orton will hurt, but having 2 extra 1sts, and a 3rd, can do wonders for the real problem of that team, the defense.

lol, not easy to get a team back to elite status when you give up the number of picks this franchise gave up

or don't hit on the 1st round selections that should be this team's current foundation.... Carnell, Clayton, and Gaines.

Yeah because nobody ever misses on 1st rounders ... only Gru/Allen

Please find the post where i said that GruAllen are the only ones that missed on picks.

Point is people are quick to point out the picks we didn't have while neglecting to mention the high picks we did have.... that were garbage picks.

Does a Superbowl win warrant a lifetime contract?

IMO, the jury is still out on the K2 trade. Firstly, it wasn't a need position. Secondly, I'd have made him play at least one season here before handing him $20 mil guaranteed.

9-7 with the crap squad we had in Tampa last year isn't exactly doing a terrible job.

TE wasn't a need position, but in the BPA strategy, the risk/reward of K2 will be better than any player available in the 50's.

A SB win does not guarantee a lifetime contract, but to fire him for a secondary coach, come on.

Point is everyone misses on picks ... point is that they're magnified when you give up 6 high ones over a 4 or 5 year period when you should be restocking the cupboard ... Gru/Allen made plenty of good picks/moves here, but the detractors are quick to point out the misses.

Is there a quote somewhere of someone saying it does?

Who was responsible for, by your own admittance, a crap squad?

Dude, 9-7 and missing the playoffs sucks. 9-7 and making the playoffs and getting eliminated in the 1st rd. also sucks. We want multiple Superbowl Trophys.....Not just one.........but many!!!
