a 1st and a 3rd for Boldin

Everyone has their preference. If I had to pick one, I'd take Boldin. Dude is more physical which is what I like in a WR.

  The Baltimore Sun confirmed that the Ravens have expressed interest in trading for Anquan Boldin.

The Sun cited a league source and subsequently asked GM Ozzie Newsome, who neither confirmed nor denied, saying only that he's talked to eight teams in the past two days. The Eagles, Giants, and Jets are also believed to be interested in Boldin.

Fitz became a beast recently. Boldin has been doing it for years.

Now that's not true at all, Hate.  People just started noticing, but Fitz has been a beast since entering the league.  Every year since they have been in the league together, Fitz has had more yards, receptions, and TD's than Boldin except for '06 when Boldin had more yards and receptions.  Fitz has always had more TD's.

Here are each receivers numbers from their first 6 seasons: (Boldin has been in the league 7 years and Fitz only 6)

Giants GM Jerry Reese played down his team's interest in Anquan Boldin Thursday.

Regarding the reported asking price of first- and third-round draft picks, Reese said "I don't know if that's the best thing for us to do." Reese pointed to Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, and Calvin Johnson as receivers that would be worth the price, but he implied that Boldin would not be.

I can see that. It is clearly a matter of preference. I want my WR to be a Game Changer though, and have the ability to flip field position at any given time.

I think you might be selling Boldin short.  Yes, Boldin played 1 more season, but only played 4 more games that Fitzgerald.  You want to knock him for durability, go ahead, I'm not... both guys have missed games.  Anyway, while playing ONLY 4 games more than Fitzgerald, Boldin's numbers overall are better than Fitzgerald.

Boldin - 502 / 6496 / 40
Fitzgerald - 426 / 5975 / 46

Anyone who has a need at WR should be jumping all over this deal, as long as they have the money available to give him a new contract. I dont see any reason for any team who needs a WR not to. This deal is to o good to use some excuse like "we need to use that 3rd round pick on a DT who will never amount to anything"

Sure we could "use" a WR of Boldin pedigree, but I wouldn't go as far to call it a "need."
