The difference here being that with Gruden you had a big ball of nothing and the revolving door to the dumpster was always open.

Like him or not the Bucs have a direction at the position with Freeman.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

Nah, that's a crap argument.  Since Gruden took over from Day 1, this team was championship ready.  He needed to fill the holes where and when they could and didn't always have a good chance to draft a good QB.

2003 - Traded 1st to Oakland.
2004 - Took Clayton.  Who did you want then, J.P. Lossman?
2005 - Took Cadillac.  You wanted Rodgers?  There were 6 other teams who "needed QB's" at the time and they all passed on him too.  Last year he finally got on the field and was pretty decent, but that's only after sitting for FOUR years... he was ONLY DECENT!
2006 - Took Joseph.  Tavaris Jackson, Kellen Clemons, and Brodie Croyle were the next 3 QB's off the board... did you want one of them?
2007 - Took Adams.  Did you want Brady Quinn?  Well, after a year of riding the pine and a pretty crappy performance last year, Cleveland doesn't even want him anymore.
2008 - Took Talib.  Gruden went on record BEFORE and AFTER the draft that he wanted Brohm and the team passed on him... TWICE.

Sorry, you'll have to find another excuse.

Of course I forgot about that LB the Bucs signed that didn't play last season.

Pretty big guy to forget about.

He should be a shot in the arm to this D.

I think so as well.   If the two injury prone stars the Bucs got play healthy, this will be a good year.
That should be "IF"......it is definitely a big IF

We all realize K2 and Crowell will have to be healthy for those pick ups to be beneficial.    We aren't the only team to be taking a risk this year on oft injured players.   Heck Atlanta gave up a second rounder for a 34 year old Tony G.   I don't see many people questioning that trade like the Winslow trade.

Let's see. McCown and Leftwich will fight it out for the starting position. Freeman is a 2 year project(sigh). Greise isn't going to make the 53 man roster if he even comes to camp. Josh Johnson probably gets put on the Practice squad at the end of camp. Ganz is rookie camp fodder because you don't want Freeman taking 100% of the snaps all weekend. Jeez.

Morris is nothin like Gruden. When all is said and done 4 QB go to camp in July. McCown, Leftwich, Freeman and Josh Johnson.
