I'll tell you what BBB - give me of an example where that is acceptable for Human's in our society and I'll concede my position - BTW - Andrea Yates did not get a wink & nod along with some free counseling.

Abortion has weakened the sanctity of life, and that has had a devastating affect on our society. From the standpoint of accepting that abortion is clinically controlled murder we have introduced the concept that some human life is not that sacred.

It is a scary proposition to empower the state to grant rights over who lives and who dies - especially since the foundation of the argument is a moving target. All they have to do is make it an individuals "right" to decide if a life is inconvenient...

The legacy of abortion has been a boon to our society too. Now, we don't have enough workers to support our socialist retirement system - see that system relies on having at least as many folks entering the workforce as those that leave it - since abortion our birth rate has decline below our death rate.

A more telling abortion legacy is that it has also opened up the discussion of how to get rid of other inconvenient life plaguing our society. We are allowing the state to determine how we handle the aging problem - at what point is the state justified in terminating the life of an aging human ward of the state? We are already discussing the issues of "quality of life vs cost to keep them alive." That is an undiscussed problem of National Health Care - in order to control costs you have to control access to care. Some elderly will be denied coverage for significant illnesses - and no one will care about their complaints.

So, do we then move on to the mentally handicapped?

You guys owe Adolph Hitler an apology.

WICHITA, Kan. – Dr. George Tiller, who remained one of the nation's few providers of late-term abortions through decades of protests and attacks, was shot and killed Sunday in a church where he was serving as an usher and his wife was in the choir.

The gunman fled, but Johnson County Sheriff's Deputy Tom Erickson said a suspect was in custody. Erickson said the person authorities had been seeking is being held in New Century, Kan., about 170 miles northeast of Wichita, until Wichita police can question him.

Police had few details on the shooting but scheduled a news conference late Sunday afternoon.

Long a focus of national anti-abortion groups, including a summer-long protest in 1991, Tiller was shot during morning services at Reformation Lutheran Church. His attorney Dan Monnat said Tiller was an usher at the services and his wife, Jeanne, was in the choir at the time.

Tiller's Women's Health Care Services clinic is one of just three in the nation where abortions are performed after the 21st week of pregnancy. The clinic was heavily fortified and he often traveled with a bodyguard, but Deputy Chief Tom Stolz said there was no indication of security at the church Sunday.

Kind of ironic an abortion doctor would be gunned down at mass.

In some ways, the guy was a murderer but in others he was just doing his job. Why people are Pro-choice really baffles me...because any one of us could have been aborted for one reason or another.

Still sad to see someone getting killed at church none the less.

This is crazy...
They showed on the news that abortion supporters were holding a vigil for this doctor and then the Wesboro Baptist Church decides to show up. A shouting match ensued and police had to be called to prevent the two sides from brawling.

You are clueless.   The guy "was doing his job"?    I guess it says that in the bible you read.   This is why religion is so ridiculous.   Any religion.

If you think late term abortion isnt murder, then you all are pretty retarded.

The problem with America is this ever-growing sense of "I can do whatever the hell I want because the ACLU and liberals will back me up".

When people lose morals and ethics, we are no better then any other species on the planet.

That's an argument FOR abortion, not against it.

Its regardless of abortion is an argument for it. The fact of the matter is, did the guy deserve to die? No. But what he was doing was basically murder. So it has an ironic twist to it.

All in all, we should be glad our parents had the courage to go through and actually have us instead of throwing us into a plastic bag when were just 3 months old.

I guess the human mind stops caring after they are born.

"Ehhh, screw pro-life...Im alive now, what does it matter to me?!"

If there were more abortions for unwed, poverty stricken mothers with no job, there would be a lot less crime in the usa.    Most of those kids end up in prison.

Heck, Dr. Tiller did about 90% of those late term abortions out of necessity. The main reason for those was because the mother was in physical danger. The Anti-abortion freaks.. you know the ones that quit caring about you once you are born, are eating this up and they are all privately celebrating this.
