The new FO messed up by giving Winslow a rich new deal. They have no option but give Ruud his well deserved money now.

The KW2 deal wasn't nearly as bad as Clayton's.

At least Clayton has put in his time HERE..... for now, K2 is an outsider, IMO of course.

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

Ruud is just watching out for himself right now.. no need to risk injury on anything that isnt training camp without a new contract. This is very common around the NFL, and I'm sure he will get his before TC and this will all be forgotten.

Does anyone know why Barber never shows up for these events? This is the 3rd or 4th Fanfest I've been to and he never shows up while all of the rest of the big stars seem to. What's his deal?

Don't know about previous years, but this year he is mad at the local media and has been avoiding them at OTAs. He has a chip on his shoulder about being labeled ''washed up/too old"

Agree completely.  Winslow has also had his contract re-structured THREE times.  This is bad management by the FO, IMO.  They want Ruud to be the face of the franchise but want to pay him like the ass of the franchise.

When Brooks was the "man" they re-worked his contract and now should do the same for Ruud...

I agree with this completely and it doesnt make any sense. Why give that money to K2 and Clayton and leave this guy hanging?  Dominick does not want to lose this guy.

When Brooks was the "man", he didn't let a team just line up & run for 400 yards against him. (Vick/Atl got a bunch thru trickery)

Brooks didn't HIDE behind blockers.

HONOR YOUR CONTRACT, CRYBABY.

(What is it with these "Team MVPs"? They win TeamMVP, and suddenly they all think they deserve Raises?!?)

     Barrett Ruud-LB- Buccaneers Jun. 14 - 2:52 pm et

Bucs MLB Barrett Ruud risks a $8,000 per day fine if he skips the upcoming mandatory minicamp.

Looking for a new contract, Ruud has yet to participate in any of the Bucs' voluntary workouts this offseason. He hasn't committed to attending this week, but the potential fines will likely bring him in.

If his agent tells him not to show, he'll probably tell his agent to pay the $24k.

to compare barrett ruud to derrick brooks is silly. brooks is one of the best, if not the best, weakside linebackers of all time. no one was shooting through his gap in his prime. barrett ruud needs to learn how to shed a block and not dissapear the last month of the season before he deserves a long lucrative contract. hes a great tackler in open space and very good in coverage but for god sakes learn how to shed a block. if u guys dont think ruud was partly responsible for that collapse your insane. i can tell you if jon beason, patrick willis or lofa tatupu was our guy in the middle that would not have happened, so why should he get payed like them yet?

While comparing Ruud & Brooks is clownish at best. Brooks didn't hide behind blockers, he did however have everything funneled his direction to get alot of those stats where as the players that were suppose to allow Ruud to stay up right & clean to amass tackles failed to deliver down the stretch in front of him, but to say those other linebackers would not have been engulfed by guards leaking out becuase the defensive tackles were being pushed around is speculation at it's finest.

In Football, RESPECT is never given freely by your opponent. It must be TAKEN from them...VIOLENTLY

Great players cost a lot of money but help win games. High-priced players - a byproduct of poorly run front offices with bad scouting departments - only cost a lot of money.
