NEW YORK (AP)—Brett Favre(notes) will know in several weeks whether his surgically repaired arm will allow him to come out of retirement again.

The quarterback made his first public comments since retiring from the New York Jets in February in an interview Monday night on “Joe Buck Live.” He said the only team he has spoken to is the Minnesota Vikings—and that they would be a perfect fit because he’s familiar with their offense.

The three-time NFL MVP said Dr. James Andrews performed the surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago on his throwing arm. Andrews told him it would take 4-5 weeks to know if he’ll be able to make all the throws he needs to.

“If it ever gets to the point where it feels like it did before it started hurting, then the biggest question mark is out of the way,” Favre said.

Favre said Vikings coach Brad Childress wanted him to attend Minnesota’s recent organized team activities, but he declined.

i know Favre is a diva with his "retirement-non-retirement" gig for the past 10 years...

but He's still better than at least 10-15 of the starting QBs currently out there, so I don't think its crazy for him to keep playing.   It's guys like Simeon Rice that need to realize that nobody wants you and to retire...

You mean like a "banning?"  Those don't work too well, not on here anyway.

I'm really looking forward to hearing from the Packers' fans around here on this! They're already in full bunker mentality and there isn't enough room on the pscyh couch for all the counseling they're going to be requesting. :)

Watch the packers will change Rogers number to "4" to prove a point lol.

He needs to hurry up and sign up with the vikqueens so we can move on again. The coverage of this is mind boggling.
