I am new to Pewter Report, looks like it is very cool! :) I had Matt Forte last year as a steal in the 5th round of my 12 team fantasy draft.  I still like him especially with Cutler in Chicago, but many RB's have the sophomore jinx since teams defense against them so much better, but with Cutler he could have a lot of catches given the Bear's below average WR staff...   Any thought from the posters?  I am in a league that adds an extra point per catch (any position, advantage to RB who catches as well as WRs who get numerous catches a game but not the yards and TD's...) and in that league I am seriously thinking of grabbing him in the first round if I am not in the top 3 or 4 in a draft of 12.  Any thoughts?   I like him better then LT right now, Adrian Peterson is injury prone, ETC ETC....    like what I have read so far y'all.

I like Forte but he seems like everybody's favorite HB in league play. I'd be scared to use a top 5 pick on him.

Suh or bust, Dom. You make the call.

How is Peterson injury prone? Has he even missed an NFL game?

I would take Michael Turner over anyone honestly.

He missed 2 his rookie year, and parts of a couple more I believe.

no way LT should be #2 unless he just has a monster preseason

I think this year, the RB's are AP and then everyone else.  You could make a good case for 4-5 other guys next.

I actually like MJD this year.  I think he can make a run for #1, health willing anyway.

I think LT may go the way of Shaun Alexander, SD has another damn good RB...  In the first round one never wants to be burned by a RB who flames, but in my league of 12 you roll the dice.  Last year I was picking 11th in a league of 12, at 11 I got very lucky with Portis but screwed up at 14 when I took Larry Johnson.... UGH  [banghead]  Would have been better off with Marshawn Lynch...... >:(

I don't like Jones-Drew carrying the full load

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

I think Turner has a down year relative to last year... still solid but not where he was. As for Forte I'd be hesitant drafting him as a legit full time starter. I think Kevin Jones is going to end up taking some of his touches this year, especially goalline.

Forte is a legit top 5 pick this year, and I would take him 3rd overall after AD and MJD in a PPR league. This thread has successfully hated on every one of the top 6 RB (according to ADP at fantasyfootballcalculator.com) except for Steven Jackson. And I'm pretty sure we can get a few people to dog him, too. Every runner has some downside, but Matt Forte feels pretty safe to me.

I put Jones-Drew in there because he won me my league pretty much by himself.

that's a decent reason, but how about the fact that he's pretty much consensus top 3 especially in PPR leagues as the OP described .....

Exactly what are you basing this on? KJ in his prime couldnt hold Forte's jock.
