rotoworld is reporting it now...its a damn shame especially because he had no control over it

Steve McNair has been found dead due to a fatal gunshot wound to the head, according to Nashville police.
Newschannel Five in Tennessee has the news first. McNair was found in downtown Nashville. Police said it looked like a double homicide. A woman was also found dead on the premises. We'll update more news when we have it, but it's a heart-stopping tragic story on our nation's birthday. Our condolences go out to McNair's family.

WSMV confirms that McNair was murdered in downtown Nashville. Was shot and killed by his wife, and then the wife killed herself.5 minutes ago from web

Man, he seemed to be one of the good guys...old school type that played hard/hurt "for the good of the team".  RIP, McNair.

Details are conflicting.

Nashville police right now are calling it a "double-homicide" at this point.

Police also have not yet confirmed that the female victim is his wife. Police only say she has been "tentatively identified."
