Wilkerson played a mere fraction of the snaps that Adams did last year and had 5 sacks verses Adams 6.5 and many of Wilkerson's sacks were from the interior lineman position.

Remember that Adams was a full time starter while Wilkerson was just a third down pass rush specialist.

I think most evaluate Gaines based upon what he has, and importantly, hasn't done to date.

Yea Hate, but there was real talent on the defense just waiting to step into the spotlight and make a statement. Will be able to say the same this year? I don't know.

I just want them to beat the hell out of the Cowpokes.  I hate them more than Carolina, Atlanta, or the Saints.  I hate their arrogant owner, hate their swagger, despite the fact they deserve none of it (when was the last time THEY won a playoff game, huh?), I hate the "America's" team brand, just hate them.  I was PIZZED when they lost to the Pokes last year.  Pizzed at Barber and P.Buc mostly...they blew it.

This year, the Bucs have a HUGE challenge.  They failed to improve their front four with any sure fire talent, despite the fact it is arguably the Bucs weakest link.  I have pissed and cried in my soup about this for 5 months now.  I am sorely disspointed they failed to go get anyone.  I was upset that they lost out on AH, I think they should have went after Shaun Rogers (cough it up Dominik!), AM upset that the Bucs think a castoff in Wilkerson is the man for the job.  Hovan is gonna get lost in the wash, gonna be rough watching this team generate pressure with what they have to work with...this I am sure of.

I like the potential of the offense.  They have the ability to be pretty good, IMO.  the defense with Barber on an Island is scary.

We'll see.  I hope I am dead wrong.

I agree. If you can hold a team to 13 points on their own turf, your defense did a great job. Clearly our downfall that game was lack of offensive production. 9 points?...c'mon.

Break it down A BIT further, and two specific plays, maybe three if oyu count the penalty on I think June on the SAME drive, and THOSE THINGS cost the Bucs that game.  The defense played lights out for certain.

Nope.

Barber stops Barber from getting a critical first down by riding him out of bounds, but extends the play by facemasking him, and riding him out of bounds.  It keeps the drive alive, when it would have stopped it dead in it's tracks.  No points for the Cowpokes if Barber does not do that.

THEN, on a play down and distance, on a play I SCREAMED WAS COMING BEFORE THE SANP, which was a fade to Williams, PBuc looked like a lost soul who never defended a fade route before.  Cost the BUcs 7 points, the most critical 7 points of the entire game.  Instead of kicking them to the curb, they lose the game because the offense could not get it done asa effectively as they should have, as was the case for most of the year.  But penalties, and failure to recognize an obvious play, is what killed the Bucs.

Other than that, the defense played well.

But what Barber did was flat out dumb (espescially since he was riding him out anyway), and PBucs lack of recognition was gawd awful, as was his STUPID AZZZ CLOWN SMILE when he got roasted...

Even if he did not, if Ronde does not facemask that one damned time, the Bucs win the game.  Cowboys were aided so much  by that dumb azz facemask.  Point blank, he screwed the pooch, and gave the game away with that one call.
