I know its a bit early but if some people are predicting we play as bad as some expect us to be, what do you think we should do with our pick (possible top 5 pick overall). Here are some of the positions I think we could use a "Franchise" player at...

1. DT: We came across a one of a kind player in Warren Sapp and I don't think we could ever find another like him. But the fact still remains we need someone whose just like him to play in the trenches on the D and bring back the nasty line mentality we once had. Pairing up Dre Moore and Roy Miller with another stud DT could leave us with some serious tackle depth for years.

2. WR: Bryant will walk from Tampa after this season. He is already pissed about not getting a long term deal and I think hes going to walk for more money elsewhere. Plus hes getting up in age so we need some type of answer at the No.1 position. Moving Michael Clayton to the No.1 spot is a sign of a weak and pathetic group of WRs. We need to find a stud for Freeman to throw to. Winslow basically playing WR is a sign that we need to fix the problem.

3. LT: I am not a Donald Penn believer. I think the dude should just shut up and play and earn that pay raise. The guy was an average LT who looked good against some of the best DEs in the game. He still gave up more sacks then anyone else on the line and he needs to do better then what he did the years before to prove it. Thats why I think we could have had Michael Oher who would have been a very nice addition to our Young but Good Offensive Line.

4. DE: Gaines Adams better do his job this year or he will be a major bust. I really wanted Paul Kruger to be a Buc but theres no way he was slipping for us to get. The Bucs got a good prospect in Kyle Moore but thats a developing talent. We need a premier pass rusher to take on the LTs and get the QB. Why the Bucs are so adamant on playing Adams on the Right Side annoys the #%^!* out of me because he sucks on that side and is much better at taking on the RTs. We need another Simeon, without the attitude.

5. CB: Talib and Mack are going to be stars for this team but we still could use another day 1 talent back here. The Safeties are stack with talent and I think another CB could really make our backfield a major force. Ronde is getting old and needs to retire. We need another big hitting shut down corner that can help the Bucs. Basically we need a Brian Kelly (who stays healthy).

Those are my top 5 positions in the right order we need for next year. Yes its early now but I think at the end of the season these are the positions that will affect us the most in the games. Just thought I would share and see what you guys think.

1. DT- If we pick in the top 5. We should either pick Ndamukong Suh or Gerald Mcoy. We need youth and talent at this position cause I don't think hovan and Sims cut it. I like mcoy better more explosive quick first step; but Suh is better when it comes to shredding blocks.
2. CB- barber should be a nickle at this point in his career. We have a bunch of unknowns at this position with Biggers, Mack, and Arrington.
3. WR- I think Bryant could leave if we do poorly this year so he could go to a contender. We can draft dez Bryant or Benn to pair with Freeman for the future. I hope Malcolm williams from texas declares he looks something special from what I have seen so far. If Texas wins the NC and he has a breakout year he should declare;

Way too early. If I had to take a guess I'd imagine the team goes corner as it is the thinnest spot on the roster.

As for AB leaving after this year, if he has a big year he'll get his money from the Bucs. I doubt hes upset about being paid in the top 5 at his position after making the league minimum last year.

BPA or greatest need. (Captain Obvious reporting in here...)

But without playing out the season - CB, based on the teams need today would be obvious.

and for what it's worth, AB won't leave in 2010.

Looking at it strictly from an economic perspective, if you are drafting in the top five, you generally either go quarterback or left tackle, since those two positions command the highest salaries in free agency.  We already have our franchise QB so we would probably go left tackle and give Penn his walking papers if he is still asking for outrageous money. The trend the last couple of years has been to shy away from drafting running backs and receivers that high. Defensive end could be a possibility. CB if it is someone super, super special.

DT: Appears to be a banner crop and DT is a huge need.
WR: Only if there is some sort of Larry Fitzgerald/Andre Johnson/Calvin Johnson type freak. Is Dez Bryant that guy? Probably not.
LT: Right now there only looks like one worth a top 10 pick and if Russell Okung is available I'd pull the trigger.
DE: Should be a good group.
CB: More and more you're just not seeing corners go in the top 10. We already have our #1 corner, so I don't think we need a top 10 pick to guard other teams' #2 receivers.

I don't know about Okung yet.  Hasn't he mostly been at RT for OK State?

NavyBuc,

Dre Moore?  Are you kidding?  So far he has shown nothing.

Would like to see a link about how Bryant is unhappy.

You don't seem to be happy with anyone. Your name Java?

Allen Bailey DT  JR University of Miami. This kids a monster. He made Bruce Feldmen's list of workout warriors #2 i think. When Bailey injured his shoulder last year which forced him to miss the last three games it was brutal to our run defense. He was recruited as a LB moved to DE last year and because of his size and the muscle he's put on he's getting moved to DT. He's not built like Sapp was either.

I have no idea who the pick will be but I know where the pick will be. Top 10. Maybe even Top 5.

Quit beefing about the past and start hoping for the future

He's definitely got all of the tools.  Should be fun watching him next season.

He was very smart to stay in school, because he would have been washed away in this year's class, IMO.
