I've heard this hype before. Reggie Bush anyone?

I get that the player has had some moments, just as I am sure Harvin will, but how is Reggie doing in the HOF balloting right now? After 3 years in the league he has a body of work that isn't exactly earth shattering.

Good. Just not great.

Harvin doesn't even have that. He has a good practice or two.

If you watch the film on Harvin and compare them the Bush you will see


Harvin is a much better reciever than Bush because reciever was his natural position.

Bush was a natural runningback who spilt out wide

Harvin was a wide reciever who occasionally came in to take a hand off


You say whats the difference? Its clear as day Bush wasnt a guy you could depend on to be a WR Harvin made a lot of catches playing a pure WR position. Bush made his on swing passes and bubble screens

The debate of Harvin=Bush is and always has been apples to oranges

Unfortunatly we will see that we missed out on probably the best pure talent in this years draft....for the second time to the same team

Ummmmmm, there isn't any film of Harvin. He's a rookie with zero experience. College doesn't count any more.

All I will say is Harvin is going to help the Vikings more than Freeman will the Bucs this year

I'm sure he will help the Vikes more this year.  But there are few rookie QB's that come out first year and produce for their team.  It's must easier for a WR to contribute.

Who couldn't cut it in college? The player who missed 4 games and barely played in 3 others in 3 years due to injury and additionally was suspended a game for failing a drug test?

Well and the team can take the Reggie Bush approach to things and force the ball to him rather he is actually doing anything for them or not.

Bottom line: we had Freeman graded as a franchise lvl QB. They might be wrong in that evaluation but given that evaluation there is NO other player they should have taken over Freeman.

Harvin will be a sometimes spectacular but likely inconsistent player with the Vikings.

Freeman has the skill set to be a legitimate Franchise QB for a team that hasn't had one of those since, well, you know the sad tale.

The Vikings are in win now mode, whether it's Favre, Jackson, or Rosenfels. They aren't in the market for a developmental prospect. Harvin would still be the pick.
