John Hughes, director of Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Ferris Beuller's Day Off, died of a heart attack today at the age of 59.  Hadn't directed a film since 1991, but I was in high school when all his films came out, so it feels like an end of an era.

Same here. Great films. Funny. Didn't take anything so seriously as some films today do. Weird Science was another one of his that I loved! 1985.

He's just gone to the big Wallyworld in the sky, rest easy.

The blues bar scene in Weird Science is one of my all-time favorites!
