BTW, why did they have to pay this clown $1.6m? Seriously, isn't he at the veteran minimum stage of things here or was there some sort of bidding war?

Vick is a great addition. Great. No doubt if McNabb gets injured Vick will be better than Kolb. They now can get creative with some wildcat plays with Westbrook, Jackson and Macklin. Congrats to Eagles for having the guts to better your team.

I won a bet with a friend by saying he would end up with the Eagles. I figured they have the only fan base that wouldn't be affected by signing a guy like him, since most of their fans are worse than he is. Oakland has the same kind of fans but that would have been a bad environment for Vick to be in if he is trying to fly right.

54% passer = sucks in the NFL...do you have another definition?

3rd most rushing yards by a qb in NFL history. Since when is it bad to run for TDs? He did take Falcons to NFC title game in 2005. When he got hurt, they couldn't gain a yard til they got Matt Ryan.

He was offered 1.6 to play in the UFL so that was apparently the minimum he was willing to sign for in the NFL.     I think money is the number one factor for him at this point.   He has debts to pay.

Ozzie wanted Vick

Posted by Mike Florio on August 13, 2009 9:38 PM ET
Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that Ravens G.M. Ozzie Newsome wanted to pursue quarterback Mike Vick.

Per Mort, Newsome, coach John Harbaugh, and owner Steve Bisciotti couldn't get on the same page.

As we reported earlier tonight, one other team had made Vick an offer, and another team was poised to do so.

It's a great situation for him. A proven QB in front of him. Two speedy wide outs in Maclin and Jackson. This could be a really interesting signing.

A highlight every now and then does not get it done. For all his "speed" the man gets sacked at a ferocious rate and has lost 1000+ yards in his limited passing career. His one redeeming season (2004) accounts for the entire reason he's not just a .500 QB. After his rookie year (ehere the Bird's were 5ht in scoring and Vick started 2 games) they only finished in the top half of the league in scoring once and the difference between that and being oput the top half was Matt Schaub's 4 TD game replacing Vick.

Yeah, he's a force.
