The Kansas City Chiefs announced Monday, Feb. 12, they have signed free agent CB Justin Phinisee (Chiefs) to a two-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not released.

Interesting that if it is for two years they must think more of him than to just give him a tryout.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

Two year deals for fringe guys are very common, it actually means more to give a guy a 1 year deal than two given these teams arent giving out much if any bonus money in the transaction. The benefit to the team is that if the fringe player actually does make the team then they have that player for two years at a bargain basement price, while the 1 year deal is more for guys who believe they can up their stock to the league with the team they sign with then sign a more lucrative deal afterwards (ie Hovan, J Bolden, Matt Bryant)

Years doesn't really matter, its all about the signing bonus.
