woohoo!

"there are no medals here for who can stay at the office the longest," said Jagodzinski. "I'm not into that. The guys that brag about working till 2 in the morning, in my opinion, they're just not smart enough. "

18,2,25,13 ... murderers row?

I support coach Calhoun and his salary

FRACAS AT FLOWERY BRANCH

We're hearing that there was a huge blowup in Falcon-land after Sunday's loss to the Giants, and that the problems spilled over into Monday.

The issue arose shortly after the 27-14 loss to the Giants, when defensive coordinator Ed Donatell got in offensive coordinator Greg Knapp's face regarding the inability of the offense to sustain drives, which resulted in the defense being on the field for too long.

Word is that Donatell blamed several injuries sustained by his troops on the poor play of the offense, because the defensive players were exhausted late in the game.

We're also told that, on Monday, owner Arthur Blank summoned Donatell and Knapp to his office, and that Blank wouldn't allow head coach Jim Mora inside the room until Blank had a chance to talk with them.  After the four men met, Knapp was angry -- and word is that Knapp is openly blaming the performance of the offense on the limited passing skills of quarterback Michael Vick.

Stay tuned, folks.  This one could get very ugly, and the Falcons have a big decision to make, especially since backup Matt Schaub will be eligible for restricted free agency after the season.

I would have loved to have been a fly on that wall.  About time they admit there is a QB problem.  I'm surprised we haven't seen more misdirection plays with Vick and Schaub on the field at the same time.

Nothing better than watching the Dirty Birds implode! I think the fact that Blank wouldn't let Junior in the office while he was talking with the Coordinators speaks volumes. Also, I didn't see Rich McKay's name anywhere in that article.

It's finally coming to form, if this is true. Knapp, when backed into a corner, will tell the truth about this offense. Vick is killing this team's ability to be creative. If you watch any Falcon game they run about 5 different plays, that's it. Vick NEVER audibles and they have no chance with that $130M mistake....I love it!!

Lelie's Comment's on the offense: AJC

"Lelie has played in productive offenses in Denver. He said of the current situation with this one: “It’s not good. It has to be a major concern. We can’t just say, ‘Oh, we’ll get better.’ We have to go into practice Wednesday trying to fix things because things won’t magically get better.”

Interesting diff in character.  Look how quickly they implode.  Look how 0-4 produced at most some minor tension here.

The issue starts with Mora and Vick.  Utter lack of leadership and maturity.

If they are smart they would convert Vick to a different type of position.

This is an unpopular statement, but I am going to make it anyway. Vick is a good player. He isn't a good QB, but he is a good athlete and he is a good player. Good athletes have proven that they can be successful NFL players. At the QB position, he isn't really all that successful because he is limited in what he can do. What I would suggest is creating a new position for him. He can't be the team's permanent QB, but I would make him a WR/RB who throws the ball. When you look at what the Steelers have done with Ward and Randle El they really have started a trend. The Falcons can take this one step further if they start Shaub at QB and Vick at WR and then use Vick's passing skills maybe 10 times a game or so from either the WR or RB position. He can even take some of the snaps under center. He would be deadly when Shaub throws him a screen and he would be deadly for a few plays as a RB as well.

Obviously this isn't going to happen but it would make their offense way better.

Blank's gonna have to cut his losses soon because the falcon faithful are gonna lose patience if the team doesn't get to the playoffs. 3 first round WRs, an all pro TE, an elite RB, and the offense can't sustain drives? Any other QB and that O should be on the same level as Cinci or the Colts. Vick was and always is a liability to the team.

Poor Vick, even his hype machine is starting to turn on him lately.  Well, at least they can't take his herpes away...
