2006
1st-OT Marcus McNeill
2nd-OT Eric Winston
3rd-WR Maurice Stovall
4th-CB Alan Zemaitis

That was exactly what I wanted in 2006 Badabing. I wanted us to draft McNeil in the 1st, and I was really pushing for Winston in the 2nd.

To the best of my recollection, only counting players who were actually available:

2004
Round 1 Steven Jackson
Round 3 Devard Darling, Will Poole, DeMorrio Williams

2005
Round 1 Carnell Williams
Round 2 Khalif Barnes, Corey Webster, Jonathan Babineaux
Round 3 Alex Smith, Atiyyah Ellison

2006
Round 1 no one
Round 2 Ashton Youboty
Round 3 Gabe Watson

2007
Round 1 Gaines Adams
Round 2A Chris Houston, Tony Ugoh, Victor Abiamiri
Round 2B/3 Charles Johnson, Tank Tyler

2008
Round 1 Rashard Mendenhall though I came to see Talib as the best pick
Round 2 Martellus Bennett, Brian Brohm, Earl Bennett, Pat Sims
Round 3 Harry Douglas, Cliff Avril, Justin King

'04-I wanted Sapp back, so Tommy Harris (tken 1 pick earlier) Wilfork or  Marcus Tubbs (glad we didn't get Tubbs)
05- wanted R. Brown with Caddy as a 2nd choice or a trade down and DT Mike Patterson
06-Winston Justice (BUST)
07-Joe Thomas (n/a) or Levi Brown or Okoye/Carricker (both Meh)
08-Aqib, Cason, or DE Balmer
09-English (n/a), Vontae Davis, or trade down for Hood.

So that's why the Bucs never called me about the GM position last January.

Does anyone else notice throughout this decade we haven't been in position to pick a great 1st round QB? Gambled with Freeman, let's hope he's the man.

The Bucs could have drafted Brady in 2000.
Drew Brees in 2001.
Aaron Rodgers in 2005.

Drew Brees in 2001.

That would have been a huge mistake.  Our first rounder that year was money for this franchise.

Yeah, Kenyatta Walker certainly left a legacy, didn't he. In fact, he cost this team TWO high draft picks, not just one. They could have drafted Drew Brees and Matt Light and instead they traded picks and got Kenyatta Walker.

Matt Light obviously would have been great for the short and long term, but were the Bucs really in a position to take another young quarterback in 2001 (Brees) when they were doing everything to win the Super Bowl that year or the next year?

Hey, I'm just listing the guys they COULD have taken, that's all. To be honest, I recall hoping they'd draft Jeff Backus in round one or trade down and get more picks and draft Todd Heap.

Gotcha. It's hard to believe Walker turned out as badly as he did. I remember tracking down an old Gary Shelton SPT column just overwhelmingly gushing over the good fortune of Walker dropping like that.

2004 Wilfork or Steven Jackson
2005 Williams - Mike or Caddy - glad it was Caddy
2006 McNeil - but I was worried about his back
2007 Joe Thomas - damned coin flip - after he was gone I wanted to trade down - I was scared about APs injury history
2008 J. Stewart
2009 Percy Harvin
