A 4th is too high for him, he was going to be cut anyway.

Maybe it's for a 5th, the one they sent to Detroit for Bly.

I agree a 4th is too much for a guy that was most likely gonna be cut.

Greise went 5-1.  Plummer > Greise.  This is a good thing.

Oh well, at least Simms has someone he can actually beat out in camp.  Jake Plummer is a f***in retard.

this also probably means Simms might still be the starter.

Well, he's younger than Garcia and we can probably restructure his deal and blackload it and put in a lot of incentives. Also, Gruden turned Gannon's career around so maybe he can do the same for Plummer. Also, I think Plummer will be cheaper than Garcia. Garcia is desired as a starter by many teams where Plummer is considered a castoff from the Broncos. I think a 4th round pick is a little high as we could have gotten Carr for that, but at least we have a decent backup now. Plummer is way better than Rattay and if Simms stinks it up, I think we can at least do average with Plummer. If our QB played average last year, we would have won a few more games.

Backup?  I'm pretty sure this means Simms is #2 now.

From PFT.com

PLUMMER TO THE BUCS

Several media outlets report that the Broncos have shipped quarterback Jake Plummer to the Buccaneers, for a fourth-round draft pick.

The move gives Plummer a chance to compete with Chris Simms for the starting job, and likely relegates 2006 rookie Bruce Gradkowski to the bottom of the depth chart.

It also removes Tampa from the Jeff Garcia derby.

Plummer can look like a better QB. Since Gruden values practice I'm sure in controlled setting with no DB's Plummer wins the job.

Gruden wants "championship" players but this is a guy who gets you 8-8. He might save his job but this isn't a long term answer. I hope he's still no laboring under the Gannon delusion and thinking he's gonna find that guy.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.
If you think Manziel is the best QB in this draft I can safely assume you are an idiot and will treat you as such.

we could be a 8-8 team with Jake as the starter.

would you prefer another 4-12 season with simms/gradkowski

There's something to shoot for...

I'm hoping it was a 5th.

Plummer's a low down street punk !  ;D

Really though, he's had his share of incidents in Denver. I'd like him to show a little bit more maturity than he has the past few years.

NOOOOO!  For a friggin' fourth?

I hope this is totally untrue, and a BS story by the Cold Pizza rumor-mill...

He was going to be cut, probably.
