Simms for Porter? Would you? More important, would the teams?

Could this trade happen?  It would make sense for both teams.  Oakland would be rid of a disgruntaled WR and Gain a deep throw QB, We would gain a Speedy WR to take Joey's place once he retires.  Spleen and attitude aside, Would you pull this trade?

It makes sense to me, but Simms is a FA in a couple of months so it isn't much of a deal form the Raiders.

Pick6:
just can't see al davis doing a deal with us, even if it is to unload a malcontent. can't see simms being willing to sign a long-term deal with them either, after his near-death experience i don't think he wants to sit behind a line on pace to give up 120 sacks this year.

unless simms can go into an ideal situation with good money, he can just refuse to agree to a long-term deal with the destination team and scuttle any deal.  simms' best option right now is FA, and he'll take it and choose his future.

besides, gruden and porter aren't buddies, and he's got a group of WRs right now with good game smarts, upside, and very little ego (for WRs).  he's got 2 or 3 more seasons to find galloway's successor, too, and the way grads is throwing the deep ball, a stovall might help us more than a porter down the line.

rocko23:
yeah i would  but we need help on the D

keeponbucn:
hell no!! Please don't bring that cancer in here. He's a class A cheddar**CENSORED** and doesn't deserve to be in Pewter.

LOL  Looks like it's time to update the auto-censor

gharen:
The Raiders might be the only team Simms could start for.

Boid Fink:
I am not sure, but didn't Porter and Gruden have some difficulty getting along in Oaktown?  As well?

I would.  In a heartbeat.  Porter is very talented.  Don't let his attitude fool ya, nobody wants to play for Art Shell.  He'd tear ass in Tampa.
