The Bucs had two picks in the sixth round this year, and with their first selection at 194, they took quarterback Bruce Gradkowski. One thing to mention right off is that he is the only quarterback in NCAA history to complete 70 percent of his passes in back-to-back seasons. Thats something that would draw Gruden to him, his obvious accuracy. He had great production in college. Good, natural athlete that can step up and be a leader. But, being only 6-1, he lacks ideal height for the position.

He came into training camp learning the complex offense in place, getting to know his new teammates, and trying to make waves to get into playing time. In the preseason, he amassed 511 yards on 45 of 61 passes with 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. Unfortunately for the Buccaneers, the preseason does not mean squat, but at the very least, it does give us some insight onto what this guy is capable of.

We have two weeks to sit and wait. Our brains are trying to fool us into thinking that this 6th round pick out of Toledo can resurrect our season. After the fifth week played, a cut-off date is set really. If he can come into a hostile enviroment like New Orleans Week 5 and play well, then perhaps there is hope. But right now, Buc fans can only sit and wait.
