PewterReport.com has reported that Josh Freeman was overweight earlier this year and he has some documented conditioning issues dating back to his Kansas State days. On Wednesday, offensive coordinator Greg Olson revealed that Freeman weighed 270 pounds, but later clarified that comment when PewterReport.com asked if he misspoke. Freeman is listed at 6-foot-6, 248 pounds on the team roster.

"He's probably 265 pounds," Olson said. "He's right in there. He's big. He's more than [the 248 listed on the roster]. He's probably 260. He's at least 260."

When asked if Freeman is currently overweight, Olson said, "No."

The Pewter Report staff has noticed Freeman has gotten bigger and bulkier since May when he debuted at the team's rookie mini-camp.

So does the team think 260 is his target weight since he's not overweight?

He weighed 248 at the combine so did the team ask him to add 12 lbs?

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

Is the bulking muscle or is it fat?  If he added 12 pounds of muscle, I'm not complaining.

Good question...  hard to answer.

Hell, he's still a kid.   Still growing into his body.   lol.

But his supposed advantage is a mobile QB who can run and make plays with his legs. At that weight, that's a lot to carry around and he surely will be slower. Not a good sign.

Ben Roethlisburger is a perfect example of why that isnt always true.

I have a feeling he has been lifting with professionals, and has indeed added mass.  But does the team really want that from him?

If we can run some of the sorts of plays the Steelers do with Ben (QB sneaks on 3rd and 2), it could really help the offense.  Of course, they'd have to get it to 3rd and short, but that's a different problem all together.

If he wasn't overweight initially, and he's been on an NFL conditioning program, it's not out of the question for a highly-active human male to gain 10-15 lbs of muscle in a year.

But damn, 265-270 is getting into Jared Lorenzen territory...

He is a first-round pick, so I am sure they are watching everything that he eats, drinks, etc.
