at 6'6" he shouldn't lose much mobility putting on another 12 pounds. Look at Culpepper in his prime, he was very mobile despite waying more than half of the DEs in the league....now he's too heavy but pry cuz his body is past its prime. If that 12 pounds is fat that is a different story...but he's primarily a pocket passer so the extra weight could help him absorb more punishment.

Yea, look at Culpepper

Freeman has the frame for it, he is a very bulky 6'6'' 260 pound player. Scouts weren't kiddin when they labeled him as having elite size. Throw in good mobility, the ability to extend plays, and a freakin cannon of an arm and you have the ingredients for a special player.

They said the same things about J Russel.  Almost to a T.

He's listed at 250 in college and was 248 at the combine. If he has bulked up did the Bucs ask him to add weight and why? 248 is plenty big enough so what motivation did he or the team have to add weight.  That is why this makes people wonder what is going on.

Ander is 6'6" but only 230. Collins is 6'5" and 245. Flacco 6'6" 235. Manning 6'5" 235. Roth is 6'5" 241. The only 2 QB's in the league that are 260 plus (listed) are Culpepper and JaMarcus.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

If there is one thing we should all learn from the combine, its that listed height and weight of these players are all false.  Watching games its obvious.  Donald Paenn at 6'5 is listed at 305 pds!  Your kidding right.  Whatever Freeman's weight is, I dont have a clue.  However, watching him on Sunday and looking at pics from the game, the kid looks like he's in shapr.  The moved like he was in shape.  That's all that counts.

Thats why they have a combine to get real measurements and he was 248. Maybe the team thinks 260 is his playing weight but given the evidence out there based on other big QB's I'm jot sure I'm buying that.

Hey PR, when you're asking these questions about weight, maybe want to ask that follow up on whether it was intentional by the Bucs, or Freeman being a fatty, since there's a world of difference between those two options.  Even your headline - he's "bulked up to 265" - is that fat? muscle? fatty muscle?  muscly fat?  You see what I'm getting at?

I mean, sheesh, we can all play the guessing game here, but seems like it's a pretty obvious follow up question to your initial question(s).

Exactly... there was no reason to do gain the weight... which makes me think it wasn't on purpose... plus, we've already heard reports that he hasn't been keeping up on his conditioning... Put it all together, people... It's not that hard.

I'm glad.

Good weight is good weight. If his mechanics stay consistent and he maintains his flexibility...why not?

Except you know...more athletic (not a statue), faster release (better mechanics), almost a decade younger, not an idiot, etc.

They asked him to bulk up to be able to sustain the massive beating he is going to take every sunday until this team gets better...

In all seriousness though He doesn't look like J.Russel and until this shows up as an issue, I have no problem with it. Should be a heck of a problem for defenders to take him down since they can't go low on the QB anymore.
