A 2nd rounder, even a low second, is a nice trade. One more bullet for the defense in next year's draft..

I hope..

Whoever the biggest run-stopping DT is in the draft is, we take him with one of our second rounders.

Personally, I'm more concerned with our hypothetical draft pick's pass rushing skills.  The team needs more push up the middle.

Wouldn't it be interesting that the salary cap strapped Colts, ladened with McFarland's idiotic contract, lack the financial wherewithal to resign Dwight Freeney....who then becomes a UFA and signs with Tampa Bay as Simeon Rice's younger replacement?

Hmmmmmmmm....

And we got a 2....I can't believe it...

Like I said in another thread, short of giving up a limb, I think Polian will do anything he can to keep Freeney in Indy.

Trade both second round picks for a top 20 first round pick.  Sounds good to me.  Two picks in the top 20 that would be sweet.  Get the best DT in the draft and either a S/LB/OT.

And trade down out of the top five for two more 1st round picks.  We could do a lot of damage with 3 picks between 15 and 30.

Dont forget they could still trade Rice on or around draft day.  This defense could be rebuilt pretty quickly with a few free agent signings and some solid draft picks.

Free agent signings is the key. A bunch of rookies on defense is a scary thought.

Hrmm, the last time we picked two defensive players in the first round we got....Ohhh, if only history could repeat itself.  Ack, um, 2nd to last time, forgot about those two DL's (Jones and somebody). I was referring to Sapp Brooks.

Which response do we get this time? Butthurt? Needs medical treatment? Or the all time favorite, \"Drama Queen\"
