I think Maroney could be a featured 1500 yard back if they wanted to use him that way. He really has a nice blend of speed and power.

When healthy.  He gets affected/effected by injuries very easily.

We have just witnessed that Welker is not as fast, as he is quick.

He can accelerate to his top speed quickly, but he has never seemed to be Sonic fast, IMO.  I have always loved how he catches and is going...

His combine numbers were decent (good), but I have never seen him flat out outrun a dude.  But he is shifty, and can launch quickly, and he is a midget, so he is hard to hit.  Love Welker.

Uh oh.....Brady might go for the kill shot right now!!

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

Boid, I wish that scouts would put as much emphasis on short area quickness as straight line speed. It's more important to a team to make three guys miss as it is to outrun 1 or 2.

Well, I am pumped about Freeman for sure.  Kid can throw on the run, he can evade in a pocket, he makes reads better than advertised.  Hopefully, he gets his fumble issues resolved (he did tuck it solidly on one run in the second, I think), and hopefully he becomes our next Brees/Brady.  I can see it in the kid!

Shadow, absolutely man.  Acceleration is vital in the NFL.  Yac (or "hidden" yardage as Gruden calls it) is massive.  teams with high YAC players generally do well.

He could make the Pro Bowl is Reggie Bush was gone.
Bush doesn't rob Thomas of carries, IMO.

Thomas is a solid back.  Not pro-bowl, IMO.
