George Foster-T-Broncos Feb. 28 - 10:17 am et

Denver reportedly got some "feelers" for T George Foster at the Combine.

The Detroit Free Press mentions the Lions as having potential interest in Foster via a trade involving one of the Broncos' two third-round picks for Dre' Bly. Foster is expected to be dealt by Denver, rather than released.

If this played out, the Lions might opt to trade down, or possibly make another choice at #2 than JT

Could happen but then we would have to hope that Cleveland would pass and I don't know if they would do that.

Detroit trades a WR to KC for Trent Green (reuniting him with Martz) and Detroit drafts CJ.

Cleveland needs Quinn or Russell more than any team needs ANY player in the top 5.  Their QB depth is not very good.

From PFT:

SKINS OUT, SAINTS IN FOR BLY

A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that the Redskins have dropped out of the bidding for Lions cornerback Dre' Bly.  Taking their place, we're told, are the Saints.

The other serious suitor is the Denver Broncos.  We're told that the deal would involve tackle George Foster and a third-round pick, or Foster and running back Tatum Bell.

The Broncos, we're told, currently are the favorites to land Bly.

Stay tuned.

With Foster, Scott, and Backus on board, the Lions might be looking at offers at #2 instead of taking JT

Interesting. Foster makes a lot more sense than flipping Backus and taking JT.

Could Brady Quinn be the pick for the Lions at 2?

That would make sense to pick up more 1st day picks with all the players they're losing. I'd love to see them pick up a starting OT.

The Lions are expected to target Michigan State quarterback Drew Stanton and/or Ole Miss linebacker Patrick Willis if they trade down from No. 2.

The Lions reportedly believe Stanton is "the total package," and also have an obvious need for a middle linebacker. The odds they trade down after acquiring a starting tailback and right tackle are very good.
