I don't get the notion, well, he should of been himself and handled it behind closed doors. That is a contradiction.
Did you ever have announce what gender you share your bed with? And when you're sharing your bed isnt that behind closed doors like most civalized people?

I presume you see the disconnect, but just in case . . .  I presume no one equates what you do with your girlfriend/wife with pedophilia, or says because of what you do "behind closed doors" you cannot adopt a child or share long-term health benefits . . .  or well, strike that . . . you can do all those things as long as you just make a different "choice" . .  in your life.  . . since you chose to be pedophile-like.  See the difference?

I have no idea what motivates Sam personally, it could be greed, but from a pure civil rights perspective his actions are like those before him who also face discrimination, so saying he should have just kept his sexuality to himself is like saying Jackie Robinson should have just stayed in the Negro leagues or Rosa Parks shouldve just stayed at the back of the bus

Well said Vince. And I am of the belief it took great courage for all 3 of them to come forward.

What I see is

5 winning seasons
3 losing seasons
1 .500 season

After the Raheem and Schiano years I'll take those type of results. Even with me not being a fan of the hire.

Looking at it a different way the team may decided to give him roughly a few hundred thousand more in guaranteed money than Watt got $51.76 million - bumping his total contract value $87 million with $52 million guaranteed in the first three years...and leave it at a six year deal the numbers would look like this. Note he would receive $40 million in the first two years of the deal which would put him as the highest paid defender over a two period...Which would also give him a yearly annual average of $14.5 million. I just do not believe that a player who does not touch the football on every snap is worth $20 million a  season for a few seasons...but you can see the contrasting contract styles with the front end heavy bloated to suffice any ego that McCoy or his agent might have.

2015 $20 million (27)
2016 $20 million (28)
2017 $14 million (29) - only $12 million is guaranteed
2018 $13 million (30)
2019 $10 million (31)
2020 $10 million (32)

Good stuff Yucc.   The bolded part is key IMO.  And this will probably be his last big megadeal. So those things together, will have them looking for a max deal.

He was pretty solid in Preseason wasn't he ? I feel like he will get signed somewhere won't he? I hope the best for him, and I think he could definitely contribute in the NFL.

@AdamSchefter: Cowboys plan to bring Michael Sam to Dallas for a physical Wednesday, per team source. If all goes well, Sam will be a Cowboy.

There ya go
A gay cowboy.

Seems about right.

Lol truth. They are already undeservedly talked about so much in the media how would having a gay player be a distraction?

If Cleveland signed him, they could just move the ESPN headquarters to Ohio.
I LOL'd

Thats true.

That was all Jerry though, not Lovie.

I'll never understand why some fans pretend to know what personnel decisions are made by the HC and which ones are made by the GM. That's internal info that only a handful of people are privy to. Chances are it's a corroboratory effort. To suggest Lovie was just a by-standard for a decade in Chicago and had nothing to do with the acquisitions of Cutler, Forte, Marshall, Olsen, or Jeffery is obnoxiously ignorant. And by that same flawed logic he had nothing to do with drafting Mike Evans, ASJ, or Charles Sims either. Just a lame duck head coach with no power?  ???

Whoa, that's a new one. I bet Doloris puts that in his arsenal pronto, if he has not already.

Rolling with your logic, without the name calling for a minute.  So, Jerry was just a stuffed suit and Lovie was running things?  It works both ways. Seeing Jerry was fired a year before Lovie might suggest some tension there, a power struggle? It would appear Lovie won that battle initially, but when things didn't go well in 2012 with Jerry gone. Lovie was sent packing too. I can see why. After Jerry and Mike Martz were gone, Lovie got his hand picked guy to be the GM. An area scout under Lovie previously.

Jerry was not the kind of guy to sit and play solitaire on his I-phone while someone else made personnel decisions. When Jerry hired the Bears HC, it was between Lovie, Saban and a couple other guys, who I don't recall.  But anyway, he wouldn't hire Saban because Saban insisted on power over personnel decisions. And Jerry was having no part of that.  So that is why Lovie got the job.  So that is a small glimpse of who was making the calls in Bear land when Lovie/Jerry were there.
