We should have signed him and traded Rice.

Good luck D White. Was a solid player for 4 seasons with the Bucs. The Franchising of premier DE like Freeney, Smith, and Grant raised the price tag of the second tier guys, which is what happened with White.

He was a good player for us.  Never could get over the hump to being that Elite player we were hoping he would become when he was drafted.

I remeber what a hellish time he had his rookie year getting aclimated to the NFL and the FL heat.

I agree with the statement that he has been a solid player for us, I agree that he is now getting overpaid, I don't agree with the scrub sentiment.

I think we all know that DW has been looking for one good pay day and he has got it. Admittedly the stars have fallen very nicely for him this year and he has taken advantage of it. I have never felt that he had any loyalty to the Bucs but I hold no grudges. He has been a professional who has never quite lived up to our expectations, but not through lack of effort. He has simply made a professional decision. So be it. I will neither cry nor celebrate, it is what it is.

It is a lot of money, just like 7M a year for a guard (Steinbach) is a lot of money.

With this team, I would have much rather paid 7 million for Steinbach than for White.

I think we're going to hold onto Rice. He is a steal right now for his salary.

5 years, $29 mil.  Damn I should have played football in high school instead of golf.

No, you just should have played golf better...

I'll miss the guy, he made some great plays for the Bucs over the years.  Dirty Red once said to Tiki Barber, "Shut the F%%K up and go back to your huddle..."

I'll miss the guy, he was JOhnny on the Spot on the big plays.

we should have franchised him IMO and let him earn a long term deal next year.  We have the money under the cap.
