They are usually a pretty accurate draft...From the mock they have and the players available they say are when we pick I go

1) Calvin Johsnon
2) Charles Johnson
2) Rufus Alexander
3) Marcus Thomas

The Harrell Pick is horrible at 2a....especially with probably one of the best DE in the draft sitting there in the second round in Charles Johnson....and we pass on him to pick up a guy with a ruptured bicep?

I couldn't tell you that, but Victor Abiamiri is a better athlete and a better overall DE with better speed and more explosiveness than Charles Johnson... If CJ is there for us, it should be...

Calvin Johnson
Brandon Meriweather
Victor Abiamiri
Marcus Thomas

That's very realistically 3-4 starters.Abiamiri (DE/LB) and Meriweather (S/CB) would add 2 more very versatile players.

Carriker moving up to #6.  With the potential trading going on at the top there is a chance he might end up a Buc.

I'd go
1)Johnson
2a) Kalil
2b) Abiameri
3) Marcus Thomas

I go with kalil because we are going to need a future center to anchor the line. Kalil can be that guy for us, and maybe even start over Wade. I couldcertainly see the argument for going with Merriweather at that spot as he is the kind of field rover we lacked last year. I could aslo understand choosing Johnson, even if Abiameri is the next pick. After this season, Carter, Wyms, Rice, and Spires could all be gone. That leaves us pretty thin on the dline with few options there as replacments. Getting two top end DEs in this draft goes a long way in building for the future. We could go alot of different ways with our final 3 first day picks.

It is a race between Carricker and Okoye. 8)

I would want Kalil in that second round myself.

I dont like the Alexander or Harrell picks at this point, we got June and I dont think we need a DT like Harrell

I would rather have Staley or Kalil with our 2a, and would rather have Weddle with our 2b if he is still there

If we spend our first 2 picks on offense, someone is going to have to talk me off of the ledge.  2a isn't a good spot for a Center.  Especially considering what's been going on in FA...  we would be better off with a high-value pick like DE there.

I posted this on another thread and yes I think its the best mock out there as far as the top 5 picks and the Bucs picks.   The QBs going 1-2 is a stone cold lock in my opinion, and Cleveland may trade up to get home town boy Quinn at 2.  That would free Detroit up to take Joe Thomas, and then CJ goes to the Bucs.  What would throw a wrench in it is if Detroit continues to trade down and allows somebody else to sneak in and take CJ at 3. This means it is a real possibility that the Bucs will have to move up to prevent this if they really want CJ over Thomas, and it would probably cost the Bucs their 3rd round pick to move up. So much for the wanting to lose the coin toss theory.

And I think this mock has it right that if we go offense in the first round we have to go D-line big time for probably two of the other three first day picks.  So if we don't take a D-line once or twice in the 2nd round it will be because we traded one of those picks for Grant.  Cato June is a great pickup for the D, but he doesn't play on the line.  And Carter and Rice are very long in the tooth.  I don't know about that particular player for that high 2nd round pick, but they got the positions right. It will either be DE or DT.

They are usually a pretty accurate draft

They are no more accurate than any other mock out there.  They might get most of the top 5 or 6 close and after that they will be all over the place.

I like them in round one....however they are beating down the Justin Harrell pick as he is the next Booger or Sapp.

Marcus Thomas is 10x....yes, 10x the Defensive tackle that Harrell is and he is not comng off a ruptued bicep. The plus is Thomas is there in round three...and if we dont take Harrell he will be there as well. How we would take Harrell over Tank Tyler/Charles Johnson/Quentin Moses is beyond me...if we took Harrell in the second with all that talent left we would make probably the most ignorant pick in the draft....3rd round Tackle 4th round injury...at best

Also Abiamiri wont be there in round three and Alexander wont be there at the end of the second.
