No. He can take advantage of safties and  lesser talented nickle backs with subpar coverage skills. Put him on the outside against a quality starting corner and he wont be open nearly as much.

rather than elevate parker to #2 receiver, why not crosstrain him at RB?  he played some RB at fsu and did pretty well from what i remember.  could he be that 3rd down back that so many covet?

No he's our fourth WR just because he had a great game doesn't mean we make him the #2 reciever that's dumb. I'm tired of all these knee jerk reaction threads and posts on this board. Jeez

The guy looks like he has "it".   Give him the start.   Benn and Briscoe ain't crap so who cares if they go to the bench for Parker?

At this point, no one really has a sure spot on the depth chart, it's whoever can get open. I don't know if Parker can get open against #2 CBs consistently, but if he can do it better than Benn and Briscoe, then he deserves a shot.

Benn had the td that put us in position to win. Without his td catch wete talkin about a loss.

Forget about a #2. Forget about a #1 even. Cross train all of them and then rotate them. This group is intelligent and talented. They are all capable of performing well at every receiving position. Mix it up so defenses can't focus their best defenders on Mike Williams without committing to man to man coverage. Gruden was too predictable and couldn't make use of two star receivers because they "played the same position". We have six receivers who are capable of scoring TDs. Make use of them. Get them involved.

at 6' 200 parker is much bigger than a guy like sproles and very similar to the build of a reggie bush.  he excelled at the hybrid role in college, sure couldnt hurt to get him out in the flats against a LB.  plus you arent using a roster spot on a 3rd down specialist.

The reason parker had a good game is because freeman had time to go threw his reads in the second half, his O-line stepped up big time.  I think you guys calling for him to become the #2 guy might be under welmed by his performance once he is covered by quality NFL CB's and not the LB's he faced all game week 2.  With williams being double teamed virtually all game, I will agree to you that Benn needs to step his **CENSORED** up and get open.  He may run a 4.3 without pads but he sure doesn't look it with them.

Benn has showed a lot of flashes dating back to last season. He came in as a very raw prospect and has the highest ceiling of any WR. We need to keep devolping him, which means he needs to stay on the field. Parker is a great fit for the slot.

Exactly, Biggs. Next this will roll over into the usual "Benn, M. Will, Briscoe....is a Bust" post. I'm a Parker fan, but he had that much success BECAUSE of the other receivers and the quality depth that the Bucs are developing at WR. Just another weapon

Seriously... I started this thread to see everyone's opinion. I even said in the thread that I may be overreacting. Why are some people getting so defensive.

Oh and I love the "higher draft pick" excuse. I understand it's real, but according to that rule Ahmad Black should start over Cody Grimm and Quincy Black should stay startng over Watson.
